DINI/nestor Workshop: Who’s gonna pay for that? Cost and operating models for sustainable research infrastructures and FDM services

The “DINI/nestor-AG Forschungsdaten” and the eSciences service centre of the University of Trier are holding a workshop on this topic on the 12th and 13th of June. On the first day, Peter Gietz, CEO of DAASI International, will give a lecture on “Cost and Operating Models for Humanities Research Infrastructures”, which will deal with the work with DARIAH and the DeiSU cost model. In addition to numerous other lectures, there will also be opportunities to exchange ideas and experiences.

On June 16th, the 40th REFEDS Meeting takes place during the research and European research and education networking conference TNC19 in Tallinn, Estonia. Members of the REFEDS (Research and Education Federations group) community all share an interest in developing access and identity management technology, policies and processes. CEO of DAASI International, Peter Gietz, will present the FIM4L (Federated Identity Management for Libraries) working group during the meeting.

Guest Lecture: Career Opportunities in the Stress Field between Indology and IT – A Personal Example

As part of the guest lectures in the seminar “Research and Occupational Fields of Indology”, Peter Gietz will give a lecture on 23th of July at the Asia-Orient Institute, Department of Indology and Comparative Religious Studies at the University of Tübingen. The topic of the lecture is “Career opportunities in the stress field between Indology and IT: a personal example”. Peter Gietz himself worked as a research assistant in Indology during his studies.

The lecture will take place in the “Verfügungsgebäude”, Wilhelmstraße 19, Room 1.13, in Tübingen.
