DARIAH-DE is the German partition of the European project DARIAH (Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities). The project, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in three phases, is one of the German contributions to the European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) of the European Union: A program intended to build sustainable research infrastructures.
In DARIAH-DE, researchers from various humanistic and cultural disciplines cooperate with computer scientists and IT providers to develop digital research methods, answer research questions in new ways and establish new working principles within a research infrastructure.
Therefore, DARIAH-DE faciliates the creation of virtual research environments in the humanities through consulting, generic services of a technical infrastructure, and connecting previously segregated activities. Existing digital resources, services and knowledge are shared and linked regardless of the discipline and research question.
