midPoint is one of the most advanced open IAM solutions on the market and offers an integrated approach for the administration of access data, access rights and identity governance. midPoint is prepared for every need, as it is an extensive, customizable standard solution and a related technology to the once popular Sun Identity Manager / Oracle Waveset.
Shibboleth facilitates Single Sign-On (SSO) for your web applications and can be integrated for authentication purposes into any existing system that has the respective interface – if required, beyond the borders of your organization. Additionally, you can determine coherent methods for authentication according to your governance and policies.
OpenLDAP is an open source implementation of LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol). If you need to create and provide hierarchic, systematic data, OpenLDAP is unprecedented in terms of performance, reliability and security.
SimpleSAMLphp is an alternative to Shibboleth which offers similar features: It enables Single Sign-On (SSO) for your web applications. As an authentication tool, it can be connected to any existing system that offers an appropriate interface – if necessary even across organizational borders. Compared to Shibboleth, SimpleSAMLphp is more lightweight and changes in configurations are easier to implement.
Satosa is a tool used within the area of identity and access management. Since Satosa is a proxy, it is located between the service provider (SP) and the identity provider (IdP). This allows, for example, to translate the communication between the SP and the IdP from one authentication protocol to another (SAML, OIDC). Satosa also simplifies the linking of a service to an AAI with numerous participants (federation): Instead of connecting the service to each of the IdPs, it can simply be connected to the proxy.
