Janssen – Authentication & Authorization for Web and Mobile Applications

Janssen offers a wide range of functions:

• Single Sign-On (SSO): Janssen provides secure single sign-on via OpenID Connect, OAuth2, SAML and CAS for both Web and mobile applications.
• Two-Factor Authentication: The software supports a variety of 2FA mechanisms to increase security for sensitive applications. This can be combined with the Casa solution integrated in Janssen to enable a self-service portal for token management, among other things. However, external 2FA solutions can also be connected. Janssen also comes with an authentication flow that makes it particularly easy to connect to privacyIDEA /eduMFA.
• Social-Login and external authentication: It is possible for users to register and log in via Google, Facebook, GitHub, etc. This solution is very versatile and can also be used to enable external authentication via enterprise SSO, such as ADFS or Keycloak. • Access management: With Janssen, access to various resources can be centrally managed and restricted.
• Identity management APIs: Users are provisioned and deprovisioned via standard-compliant SCIMv2 APIs. This means that Janssen can be seamlessly connected to identity management systems.
• Directory integration: Janssen enables the connection of an existing Active Directory or LDAP directory service.

The functionality of Janssen can also be supplemented by other optional applications:

• Jans Casa: Casa is the 2FA management and self-service portal. End users can use it to set up and manage second factors themselves, link accounts and edit their own data.
• Agama: Agama is a framework for designing web flows with a focus on authentication flows. Using the ‘Agama Lab’, processes such as authentication and registration can be mapped and graphically modelled in low-code style. There are a variety of ready-made flows (e.g. for widespread social IdPs such as Facebook or Google) and customised flows that can be shared with the community.

Janssen can be operated in different versions:
