Change of Leadership at DAASI International

Company founder Peter Gietz hands over management to a dual leadership team of David Hübner and Markus Widmer

Tübingen, 1 September 2026 – DAASI International GmbH has completed a change in management as of 1 September. After more than 25 years at the helm of the company, founder Peter Gietz is handing over management to David Hübner and Markus Widmer. Both previously served as authorised signatories and have been involved in the strategic and operational development of the Tübingen-based open-source service provider.

Mr Hübner and Mr Widmer intend to continue the company’s existing course while adapting its services to new technological developments. The company will continue to focus on digitally sovereign open-source solutions.

“We are taking over the management with great respect for what Karin and Peter Gietz have built together, but also with respect for the tasks that lie ahead,” explains Markus Widmer. “DAASI International stands for technical expertise, openness and trusted collaboration. We will preserve these values and this foundation while continuing to develop together with our team.”

Peter Gietz founded DAASI International in 2000 together with his wife Karin Gietz as a spin-off of the University of Tübingen. What began with initial projects and solutions in the field of directory services developed into an international IT service provider specialising in Identity & Access Management. Its customers include organisations in education and research, public administration and the private sector.

The change in leadership marks a new chapter in the company’s history, but is explicitly understood as a continuation of its successful development. Peter Gietz will remain closely associated with the company and will support the transition to the new leadership structure.
