- 5th OpenLDAP Developer Day 2018 – 20 Years Are a Reason to Celebrate!
Together with the US-American company Symas and the Data Processing Center of the University of Tübingen, DAASI International invites to the 5th OpenLDAP Developer Day – Silver Jubilee in Tübingen on the 8th of October, celebrating the 20 years jubilee of the successful server software OpenLDAP.
This jubilee is supposed to bring together developers, directory experts and other OpenLDAP stakeholders from around the world. On the occasion of the twenty-year success story, a framework is created to exchange and discuss further ideas about the evolution and possibilities of this open source project, which has outgrown its status long ago. Speeches by renowned speakers such as Howard Chu, member and chief architect of the OpenLDAP core team, and Peter Gietz, an internationally recognized directory services expert, provide the corresponding impetus. Due to the limited places, especially developers, contributors, as well as companies that promote the use of OpenLDAP may feel invited to submit a speech as a basis for discussions. You can register at odd-silverjubilee@daasi.de.
OpenLDAP is the reference implementation of the LDAP standard, a network protocol that was developed for the query and processing of information in directory services. The open source software OpenLDAP provides both a server implementation and a client library for the access to the appropriate server. Thereby, it sets high standards regarding speed and stability and achieves high-performance availability of data. The developer community is very active since its release in 1998 and continues to develop OpenLDAP constantly.
The team of DAASI International has longtime experience with OpenLDAP, that has been gained over time in many projects and in cooperation with diverse organizations in different fields of activity. Over the years, DAASI International was repeatedly involved in the organization of events relating to OpenLDAP to support the project in every way. So, DAASI International was for example major organizer of the LDAPCon 2011, OpenLDAP exhibitor at German fairs and also hosted the 4th OpenLDAP Developer Day in 2006. With the Silver Jubilee, another OpenLDAP event fits seamlessly into this list and DAASI International looks forward to welcome the community in Tübingen once again.
